Social Activities

The South Warwickshire Flying School has a very active social scene which is the envy of many other establishments. Activities include a variety of events - these include flying trips to various interesting places at home and abroad during the six months that straddle mid-summer. Quiz Evenings and Skittle Nights include dining out at local venues and are enjoyed by family and friends. Talks and Evening Lectures are accompanied by 'cheese and wine', provided for by the School.

Visits are arranged to various Air Traffic Control Centres and places of aviation interest. An annual 'Flour Bombing & Spot Landing' competition has been an outstanding success over the past years. There is an annual 'Navigation' competition and a 'Fireworks and Barbecue' evening on Bonfire Night.  Numerous regular activities include 'Model Flying Display & Build a Glider Evening' etc etc. The Annual Members Dinner Dance is normally held at the end of November and prior to the Christmas activities.

Events are always promulgated and displayed on a special Notice Board in the School Lounge and all members receive regular quarterly editions of the School Newsletter.
